Batik is a form of wax painting that originated from Java, Indonesia. Utilising hot wax, water, coloured dyes and a tool called “canting”, the artist is able to create stunning patterns on a piece of cloth or other materials in this cherished art form.<br /><br />Join host Munah Bagharib as she tries her hand at creating her own batik painting, alongside Kamal, owner of Kamal Arts - a Batik resource centre that attempts to spread the traditional craft through community events for the public.
